Are dua's without action accepted by Allah?
The acceptance of du'as (supplications) by Allah is intricately connected to the sincerity of the person making the supplication as well as their actions. The Qur'an and hadith emphasize that both belief and righteous action are essential for one's prayers to be accepted.
In the Qur'an, it is stated: And of the wandering Arabs there is he who believeth in Allah and the Last Day, and taketh that which he expendeth and also the prayers of the messenger as acceptable offerings in the sight of Allah. Lo! verily it is an acceptable offering for them. Allah will bring them into His mercy. Lo! Allah is Forgiving, Merciful.
9:99. This verse highlights the importance of belief and righteous actions alongside prayers.
Additionally, the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ taught that Allah only accepts good and pure actions, which is supported by a hadith where he said: O people, Allah is Good and accepts only that which is good
Sahih Muslim 12:83. He further illustrated this by describing a man who raises his hands in supplication but whose sustenance is unlawful, questioning how such a prayer could be accepted. This indicates that engaging in good deeds and ensuring that one's sources of sustenance are lawful are important prerequisites for the acceptance of du'a.
Furthermore, Ibn Kathir explains that for an action to be accepted by Allah, it requires both sincerity to Allah alone and correctness in accordance with divine law. If a person performs an action sincerely but it does not align with the teachings of the Prophet, it will not be accepted (Tafsir Ibn Kathir).
In summary, while du'a is a powerful form of worship, its acceptance is closely tied to the individual's faith, intentions, and actions. Engaging in righteous deeds and ensuring that one's sustenance is lawful are crucial for having one's supplications accepted by Allah.

Sahih Muslim 12:83
Sahih Muslim · Book 12, Hadith 83 · Narrated by Abu Huraira
The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "O people, Allah is Good and accepts only that which is good. And Allah has commanded the believers as He commanded the messengers: 'O messengers, eat from the good things and do righteous deeds.' And He said: 'O you who believe, eat from the good things We have provided for you.' Then he mentioned the man who travels long and appears disheveled and dusty, raising his hands to the sky saying, 'O Lord, O Lord!' while his food is unlawful, his drink is unlawful, his clothing is unlawful, and he is nourished with unlawful things, so how can such a prayer be answered?"
