How many Lailathul Qadr nights are there for a year in Islam?
In Islam, Laylat al-Qadr, also known as the Night of Decree, occurs during the last ten nights of Ramadan each year. Specifically, it is emphasized that this night is most likely found on the odd-numbered nights within this period. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ advised seeking it particularly in the last seven nights of Ramadan, stating: Seek it in the last seven nights.
Sahih al-Bukhari 91:10
From a Shia perspective, it is affirmed that Laylat al-Qadr is indeed present every year during the last ten nights of Ramadan. Abu Ja'far (peace be upon him) confirmed: Yes, it is Laylat al-Qadr, and it is in every year in Ramadan during the last ten nights.
Al-Kafi 2:372
Thus, while Laylat al-Qadr occurs annually, its exact date can vary, and it is encouraged to observe worship during the last ten nights of Ramadan to catch this blessed night.

Al-Kafi · Book 2, Hadith 372
Humran asked Abu Ja'far (peace be upon him) regarding the statement of God Almighty, 'Indeed We sent it down on a blessed night.' He said, "Yes, it is Laylat al-Qadr, and it is in every year in Ramadan during the last ten nights. The Quran was only sent down on Laylat al-Qadr. God Almighty said that on it every wise affair is distinguished. All that will happen in that year until the corresponding year before it is decreed on Laylat al-Qadr, including good and evil, obedience and disobedience, births, deaths, and provision. What is decreed in that year and determined is fixed, and God Almighty has the will in this matter." I asked, "The Night of Decree is better than a thousand months, what does that mean?" He replied, "That righteous deeds in it, such as prayer, charity, and all kinds of goodness, are better than the deeds in a thousand months without a Night of Decree. And if God did not multiply the rewards for the believers, they could not reach it, but God multiplies the good deeds in love for us." — OR — Do not mingle or deal except with one who naturally grows up in goodness. — OR — Al-Husayn ibn Muhammad narrated from Mu‘alla ibn Muhammad from Hasan ibn Ali from Aban from Abu Maryam from Abu Ja'far (peace be upon him) who said: The Mu'li (husband who revokes maintenance) is held back after four months. If he wills, he keeps her in kindness or releases her graciously. If he resolves divorce, it is counted as one divorce and he has the greater right to take her back. — OR — Whoever dies and has no heir from his relatives or his freed slaves guaranteed his responsibility; his estate is from the spoils. — OR — When reciting the Book of God, the Almighty, he used to supplicate: O God, our Lord, to You belongs all praise, You alone possess power and authority, all praise to You who are exalted in honor, greatness, above the heavens and the great throne. Our Lord, all praise to You who are self-sufficient through Your knowledge, and all those with knowledge are in need of You. Our Lord, all praise to You, O Revealer of signs and the great remembrance. Our Lord, all praise for the wisdom and the great clear Qur'an You have taught us. O God, You taught it before we desired to learn it, and you chose us for it before we wished for its benefit. O God, if this is a favor from You and a grace, favor, kindness, mercy for us and a bounty that we have not earned, without our power or might, then make reciting it dear to us, guarding its verses, believing in its allegories, acting upon its clear commands, a means to interpreting it, guidance in managing affairs, and insight through its light. O God, as You revealed it as a cure for Your friends, calamity for Your enemies, blindness for the disobedient, and light for the obedient. Make it for us a fortress against Your punishment, a protection from Your wrath, a shield from disobedience, a safeguard from Your indignation, a guide to obedience, and a light on the Day we meet You by which we illuminate among Your creatures and pass safely along Your path and are guided to Your paradise. O God, we seek refuge in You from hardship in carrying it, blindness in acting on it, injustice to its judgment, pride in its purpose, and falling short in its right. O God, lighten its burden on us, grant us its reward, enable us to give thanks for it, make us its readers and keepers. O God, make us follow its lawful and avoid its forbidden, establish its limits, and perform its obligatory duties. O God, grant us sweetness in reciting it, zeal in performing it, reverence in its recitation, strength in employing it day and night. O God, heal our sleep lightly and awaken us at the hour of the night from the sleep of sleepers. Remind us in the moments when prayers are answered from the sleep of drowsiness. O God, make our hearts keen with its wonders that never become exhausted, bring delight with its repetition, tears with its contemplation, and clear benefit when questioned about it. O God, we seek refuge in You from leaving it behind in our hearts, neglecting it in our sleep, turning our back on it, and from hardness of hearts toward what You have admonished us. O God, benefit us by what You have revealed among the verses, remind us by the parables You have set down, clear away from us its evil interpretations, increase our reward with it in good deeds, elevate us with its reward in degrees, and grant us glad tidings of it after death. O God, make it for us a provision to strengthen us on the day we stand before You, a clear path by which we come to You, beneficial knowledge by which we are grateful for Your blessings, sincere humility by which we glorify Your names. For surely You have established by it a proof against us, cut off our excuses, and fashioned a blessing with it that exceeds our thanks. O God, make it for us a guardian who keeps us firm from error, a guide who leads us to righteous deeds, help that supports us against inclination, aid that strengthens us against weariness until it leads us to the best hope. O God, make it an intercessor for us on the Day of Meeting, a weapon on the Day of Ascendance, a proof on the Day of Judgment, and a light on the Day of Darkness when there is no earth nor sky, the day each effort is recompensed. O God, make it a drink on the day of thirst and salvation on the day of retribution from a scorching fire with little fuel for those burned by it and flaming heat. O God, make it a proof for us against the heads of the mighty on the day the people of earth and heaven are gathered. O God, grant us the stations of the martyrs, the life of the fortunate, and companionship with the prophets. Truly, You hear prayers.
