How would I convert to Islam and become a Muslim?

To convert to Islam and become a Muslim, one must sincerely declare the testimony of faith, known as the Shahada. This declaration expresses the belief in the oneness of Allah and the prophethood of Muhammad ﷺ. It can be recited in front of witnesses, though it is essential that it is done with genuine conviction.

The Qur'an emphasizes the importance of entering into submission to Allah. In Surah Al-Baqarah, it states: O ye who believe! Come, all of you, into submission (unto Him); and follow not the footsteps of the devil. Lo! he is an open enemy for you. 2:208 This verse encourages all believers to fully embrace Islam and adhere to its teachings.

Moreover, it is also important to follow the ethical guidelines established in Islam. The Qur'an instructs the Prophet ﷺ regarding the acceptance of allegiance from believers, saying: O Prophet! If believing women come unto thee, taking oath of allegiance unto thee that they will ascribe no thing as partner unto Allah, and will neither steal nor commit adultery nor kill their children, nor produce any lie that they have devised between their hands and feet, nor disobey thee in what is right, then accept their allegiance and ask Allah to forgive them.
