Was Hazrat Ali (RA) born inside the kabba with the walls cracked?

The story of Hazrat Ali's (RA) birth is indeed a significant narrative in Islamic tradition, particularly within Shia beliefs. According to Shia sources, it is said that Ali (RA) was born within the Ka'bah itself, an event that highlights his esteemed status. This is often tied to the miraculous nature of his birth, as it is believed that his mother, Fatimah bint Asad, was the only woman to have given birth in the Ka'bah, with some accounts suggesting that the walls of the Ka'bah opened to allow her entry.

In Al-Kafi, it is narrated: Amir al-Mu’minin Ali, recipient of divine supreme covenant, was born thirty years after the year of elephant. He was martyred on the twenty-first of the month of Ramadan on Sunday night in the fortieth year after Hijra (migration). He was sixty-three years old at that time. He lived for thirty years after the death of the Holy Prophet, recipient of divine supreme covenant. His mother was Fatimah, daughter of Asad ibn Hashim ibn ‘Abd Manaf. He was the first person whose parents both belonged to Hashim Al-Kafi 112:1222.

While the Sunni tradition does not emphasize this event to the same extent, it acknowledges the high regard in which Ali (RA) is held within the broader Islamic community. His birth in such a sacred location is viewed by many as a sign of his special status and his pivotal role in Islamic history.
