What are the requirements for the acceptance of a hadith from a narrator?
The acceptance of a hadith from a narrator requires certain criteria to ensure its reliability. In Al-Kafi, Abu Abdullah (peace be upon him) stated: When a hadith comes to you and you find a witness to it from the Book of Allah or from the statement of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his family), then take it; otherwise, the one who brought it to you has more right to it.
Al-Kafi 2:166. This means that for a hadith to be accepted, it should have corroborative evidence from the Qur'an or an established saying of the Prophet ﷺ. If such evidence is lacking, the credibility of the narrator becomes crucial, implying that the narrator must be trustworthy and reliable in their transmission of the hadith.

I asked Abu Abdullah (peace be upon him) about the difference in narration of hadiths, whose reliability we should trust, some of whom we do not trust. He said: "When a hadith comes to you and you find a witness to it from the Book of Allah or from the statement of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his family), then take it; otherwise, the one who brought it to you has more right to it." — OR — The Commander of the Faithful (peace be upon him) said, "Tasbih (glorification of Allah) is half of the scale; thanks be to Allah fills the scale; and Allahu Akbar fills what is between heaven and earth." — OR — I asked about a man entering the bathhouse while fasting. He said there is no harm. — OR — A number of our companions narrated from Sahl ibn Ziyad that he reported from Abu Abdullah (peace be upon him) on the verse of God Almighty: 'And do not incline toward those who do wrong, lest the fire touch you.' He said, 'The man who approaches the ruler and loves to remain in his favor until he can put his hand into the ruler’s purse and receive something from him.' — OR — I was asked about a man who has a young woman who menstruates once every two or three months. How should her husband divorce her? He said: Her case is severe. He divorces her by a single repudiation according to the Sunnah during her purity without intercourse witnessed by witnesses, then she is left until she menstruates three times. When she menstruates thrice, her waiting period ends. I was asked, 'If a year passes and she does not menstruate three times?' He said: If a year passes without three menstruations, she should be awaited for three more months after the year, then her waiting period is complete. I was asked: If either of them dies? He said: Whoever dies inherits from what is between him and fifteen months. — OR — Women do not inherit from immovable property such as houses, but the buildings and bricks are evaluated, and they receive their eighth or quarter share. This rule is so that women do not marry and disrupt the inheritance of the heirs.
