What is the proof that Islam is THE truth? How can I have 100% certainty?
The proof that Islam is the truth can be found in the Qur'an and the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. One significant verse states: He it is Who hath sent His messenger with the guidance and the religion of truth, that He may cause it to prevail over all religion. And Allah sufficeth as a Witness.
48:28. This verse indicates that Allah has sent His messenger with a message that is true and will ultimately prevail, suggesting the ultimate validity of Islam.
Moreover, the concept of faith and certainty in Islam is elaborated upon in the teachings of the Prophet ﷺ. He explained the essence of faith by saying: Faith is to believe in God, His angels, His books, His messengers, the meeting with Him, and the Resurrection.
Sahih al-Bukhari 65:299. This comprehensive understanding of faith encompasses belief in the unseen and the acceptance of divine truths.
Additionally, the Qur'an itself serves as a proof of its truth. Allah challenges those who doubt the Qur'an to produce a verse like it, which emphasizes its divine origin. This challenge is seen as a means to affirm the Qur'an's authenticity and unmatchable nature.
Ibn Kathir explains that the Prophet's message is indeed the truth without any doubt, and that one must not harbor uncertainties about it (Tafsir Ibn Kathir). This reinforces the idea that certainty in faith is achieved through understanding and accepting the truth of the message delivered by the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ.
In summary, the combined evidence of the Qur'an's claims, the Prophet's teachings, and the historical impact of Islam can foster a strong sense of certainty in the belief that Islam is indeed the truth.

Sahih al-Bukhari · Book 65, Hadith 299 · Narrated by Abu Huraira
One day, the Messenger of God, peace be upon him, was standing among the people when a man approached walking and said, 'O Messenger of God, what is faith?' He said, 'Faith is to believe in God, His angels, His books, His messengers, the meeting with Him, and the Resurrection.' The man said, 'O Messenger of God, what is Islam?' He said, 'Islam is to worship God alone and associate nothing with Him, establish prayer, pay the prescribed Zakat, and fast Ramadan.' The man said, 'O Messenger of God, what is Ihsan (excellence)?' He said, 'Ihsan is to worship God as if you see Him, and if you cannot see Him, know that He sees you.' The man said, 'When will the Hour come?' He said, 'The questioner knows no more than the questioned, but I will inform you about its signs. When a woman gives birth to her mistress, that is one sign. When the barefoot, naked shepherds become the heads of people, that is another sign.' He mentioned five signs unknown except to God: 'Indeed, God alone knows the Hour and sends down the rain and knows what is in the wombs.' Then the man left. When they sought to question him, he was nowhere to be found. The Prophet said, 'That was Gabriel who came to teach people their religion.'
