What prophets came before Muhammad PBUH?
Before Muhammad (peace be upon him), many prophets were sent by Allah. The Qur'an mentions several of these prophets in various verses. For instance, in Surah An-Nisaa, it states: Lo! We inspire thee as We inspired Noah and the prophets after him, as We inspired Abraham and Ishmael and Isaac and Jacob and the tribes, and Jesus and Job and Jonah and Aaron and Solomon, and as We imparted unto David the Psalms;
4:163. This verse lists some of the significant prophets who came before Muhammad, highlighting that he is part of a long line of messengers.
In addition, Al-Kafi mentions that the masters of the prophets and messengers are five: they are Noah, Abraham, Moses, Jesus, and Muhammad (peace be upon them) and upon all the prophets.
Al-Kafi 4:8. This indicates that these five prophets are considered particularly important in the Islamic tradition.
Thus, the prophetic lineage includes notable figures such as Noah, Abraham, Moses, Jesus, and many others, all of whom played significant roles in guiding humanity before the final messenger, Muhammad (peace be upon him).

Al-Kafi · Book 4, Hadith 8
The masters of the prophets and messengers are five, those determined among the messengers; they are Noah, Abraham, Moses, Jesus, and Muhammad (peace be upon them) and upon all the prophets. — OR — Regarding the words of Allah, the Exalted: "Indeed, We see you among the doers of good," he said: He would widen the gathering, lend to the needy, and help the weak. — OR — A man passed by the Prophet (peace be upon him and his family) while treating some of his rooms and said: O Messenger of God, may I manage for you? He replied: Do as you please. When he finished, the Messenger of God said to him: Your need is Paradise. Then the Messenger of God (peace be upon him and his family) lowered his gaze, then said: Yes. When the man departed, he said to Abdullah: Help us with long prostrations. — OR — I asked Abu Abdullah (peace be upon him) about a man who sends his dog to hunt and it catches the prey but he does not have a knife to slaughter it with. Should he leave it until it kills and eats part of it? He said, “There is no harm.” God, the Mighty and Majestic, says, 'So eat from what We have provided for you.' But it is not permissible to eat prey killed by the leopard. — OR — The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his family) was informed of a murdered man in Juhaynah and he went walking until he reached their mosque. The people gathered and asked, 'Who killed this person?' They replied, 'O Messenger of Allah, we do not know.' He said, 'A murdered person among the Muslims whose killer is unknown. By Him who sent me with the truth, if the inhabitants of heaven and earth conspired in the blood of a Muslim and approved it, Allah would cast them onto their faces in the Fire.'
