Who is responsible for maintaining the child(ren) if a wife gets pregnant in nikah mut'ah?
In the case of a wife becoming pregnant during a mut'ah (temporary marriage), the responsibility for maintaining the child falls upon the husband. This is supported by a narration from Al-Kafi, where it states: A divorced pregnant woman must be maintained until she delivers her child. She has the greater right to her child if she nurses him in a way accepted by another woman.
Al-Kafi 2:200
This indicates that the husband is obligated to provide for the wife during her pregnancy, ensuring her welfare until she gives birth. Furthermore, it is noted that the same principle applies to a wife in a mut'ah arrangement, emphasizing that the husband must take care of the mother's needs during this period.

Al-Kafi · Book 2, Hadith 200
The Messenger of God (peace be upon him and his family) said: Whoever says, 'A tree was planted for him in paradise of red ruby, whose roots are in white musk, sweeter than honey, whiter than snow, and more fragrant than musk, with maidens like the finest young camels adorned with more than seventy garments.' The Prophet (peace be upon him and his family) said: The best form of worship is saying 'And', and the best worship is seeking forgiveness. This is the word of God Almighty in His book: 'Know that there is no god but God, and seek forgiveness for your sins.' — OR — Regarding a man who is afflicted with thirst until he fears for his life, he said, "He may drink only as much as quenches his thirst, and he should not drink until he is fully satisfied." — OR — There was a woman called Umm Taybah who used to lower (the hair of) the slave girls. The Prophet (peace be upon him and his family) called to her and said: "O Umm Taybah, if you lower the slave girls, then trim and do not be oppressive, for it is whiter to the complexion of the face and more loved by the husband." — OR — A divorced pregnant woman must be maintained until she delivers her child. She has the greater right to her child if she nurses him in a way accepted by another woman. Allah the Exalted says: 'A mother shall not be harmed by her child, nor a child by his mother.' The heir similarly is subject to the same ruling. It was customary among us that a woman would raise her hand to her husband when he intended to have intercourse with her, saying: I will not allow you because I fear I will conceive on my child. The man would say: I will not have intercourse with you because I fear you might miscarry and kill my child. Allah the Exalted forbade harm to the woman by the man and harm to the man by the woman. As for the statement regarding the heir, it forbids harm to the child or harm to his mother during breastfeeding. She may not take from breastfeeding beyond two complete years, but if both wish for earlier weaning by mutual consent, that is good. Weaning is the act of stopping nursing. — OR — He said, "If a man divorces while he is sound and has no right of return over her, they do not inherit each other. But he inherits and is inherited if she has not reached her third menstrual period and he has a right of return over her."
