Will my salah be accepted if I pray at home?

Praying at home is generally acceptable in Islam, but the reward and preference can vary depending on the type of prayer. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ emphasized that, while voluntary prayers performed at home are preferable, the obligatory prayers should ideally be performed in congregation at the mosque. For instance, he stated: A man’s prayer in his house is better than his prayer in this mosque, except for the obligatory prayers. Sunan Abu Dawud 2:655SunniSahih (per Al-Albani).

Furthermore, it is narrated that the Prophet ﷺ encouraged congregational prayers, highlighting their significance. In one instance, he noticed two men who had prayed at home and advised them not to do so, saying: When you pray at your homes, pray with the congregation in the mosque; for that is an extra voluntary prayer for you. Sunan an-Nasa'i 10:82SunniSahih (per Al-Albani).

This indicates that while your salah at home will be accepted, especially for non-obligatory prayers, attending the mosque for obligatory prayers is highly encouraged for greater reward and community connection.
